Reflection
The question of existence echoes through the ages, a profound wonder held in the heart of humanity. Across sacred writings, a tapestry of understanding unfolds, speaking of a divine presence that is both the source of all and intimately involved in the journey of creation. Some texts describe this One as the ultimate reality, the Creator who brought forth the heavens and the earth, the One from whom all things proceed and to whom all things return.
Others speak of a divine consciousness, an inner reality that pervades all existence, inviting us to recognize its presence within ourselves and in the world around us. This divine wisdom guides, sustains, and offers a path toward harmony and peace. The divine is often understood not merely as a being separate from the universe, but as the very ground of being, the love that binds all things, and the purpose that calls us toward goodness and truth.
Passages
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." — Genesis 1:1 · Hebrew Torah
"God is the Light of the heavens and the earth. His light is like a niche wherein is a lamp, the lamp in a glass, the glass as it were a pearly star lit from a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if no fire touched it. Light upon light! God guides to His light whom He wills. And God strikes parables for the people, for God is knowing of all things." — Qur'an 24:35 · Qur'an
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake." — Psalm 23:1-3 · Hebrew Torah
"For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring." — Acts 17:28 · Christian Bible
