What does the Torah say about the Messiah?

Reflection

The Torah, the foundational teachings of Judaism, speaks of a future anointed one, a Messiah, who will be a descendant of King David. This figure is envisioned as a righteous leader, a king and judge who will usher in an era of peace and universal knowledge of God. He will gather the scattered people of Israel, restore the Davidic kingdom, and bring justice and healing to the world.

This Messiah will not be a divine being, but a human chosen by God, endowed with the spirit of wisdom and understanding. His coming will mark a profound turning point, a time when war will cease, and all nations will recognize and serve the One God. He will embody righteousness, and his reign will be characterized by truth and compassion.
