What does the Bhagavad Gita say happens after death?

Reflection

The journey of the soul, it is understood, does not cease with the physical departure of the body. Even as one casts off old garments for new, the soul, the true self, sheds the mortal form and enters a new one. This process is not one of annihilation but of transformation, a continuous unfolding of existence guided by the unseen hand of the divine.

The nature of this next existence is intricately woven with the actions and intentions of this life. What is sown in the heart and in deed bears fruit in time, shaping the path ahead. Yet, even within this cycle of birth and rebirth, there lies the potential for liberation, a release from the bonds of earthly existence into a state of eternal peace and union with the Divine.
