Why doesn't God answer my prayers?

Reflection

Sometimes, the silence we perceive in prayer can feel like absence, a heavy quiet where we long for a voice. Yet, the wisdom shared across sacred traditions suggests that God’s presence is not always found in immediate, audible responses. It can be a gentle whisper in the heart, a guiding hand in the circumstances of our lives, or a quiet strength that sustains us when we feel weak. The very act of turning our hearts toward the divine, of lifting our voices in prayer, is itself a connection, a testament to a love that seeks us.

Perhaps the "answers" are not always the ones we anticipate. They may come not as direct pronouncements, but as moments of clarity, as newfound peace, or as the resilience to face what lies ahead. The scriptures remind us to be patient, to trust in a wisdom that is far greater than our own understanding, and to know that even in stillness, we are heard and held. The divine may be working in ways unseen, preparing paths and offering comfort that transcends our present perception.
